The Nigerian Association for Family Development (NAFAD)

We strongly believe that the parents are the first educators of their children, thus the readiness of parents to be actively involved in the education of their children and to co-operate closely with the school is one of the criteria for the admission of pupils. In line with the School’s Philosophy of parental responsibility and involvement in the education of their children, Lagoon School organizes a Family Orientation Course.

The course is facilitated by Nigerian Association for Family Development (NAFAD). NAFAD is affiliated to International Family Development (IDF) which has its administrative headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

This is one of the activities that the school requires every parent to attend in order to complete their children’s admission process into the school. The aim of this course is to equip parents with adequate tools for enriched family management skills in a modern world. The Family Orientation Course involves the study of family cases in ten sessions which is spread out in five consecutive Sunday afternoons. It is a course in which parents are expected to attend as couples. A Certificate is awarded to couples who participate actively in all the sessions.
