‘THE ELOQUENCE CUP’
The Eloquence Cup is an annual, iconic oratory competition organized by The School of Eloquence, The Home of Public Speaking, 36B Royal Palm Drive, Osborne Phase 2, Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The 6th Edition of The School of Eloquence Public Speaking Competition for Senior Secondary Schools -2024, was held on 2nd November 2024, at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Topic: The Role of Technology and Social Media in Nigeria’s Education System.
The Competition was
between public and private Senior Secondary Schools. It aimed at nurturing the culture of effective spoken communication at the secondary school level.
The Lagoon School was represented by
Opeoluwa Adeosun SS 2 C (The First Speaker)
Nzeadibe Monalisa SS 2B (The Second Speaker)
Claire Adebola SS 2 C (Supporting Speaker) and
Arodohweoghene Ogbor SS B (Supporting Speaker).
Out of nine schools that participated in the competition, The Lagoon School won the Speech Competition and brought home
‘The Eloquence Cup’
In addition, Opeoluwa Adeosan won the second overall best speaker award out of eighteen speakers, with a cash prize of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000).
